Went to dinner here with family on a Saturday evening at 6:00 PM and left around 8:30 or 9PM. Was actually surprised at the flavor of the food. very well made items, however the portion sizes were quite small and in my opinion, extremely overpriced for the amount you received. Another concern to me was that on a Saturday evening during a peak dinner rush period, the dining area never did seem to get remotely busy. There appeared to be no more than a few tables served during the entire time we were there. There are certainly far better values in the area than Baela Rose, even though the food was quite tasty.
The flavors were wonderful. The dishes were thoughtful and we'll executed. TROUT fish and chips? It worked! Been here before. This was a great experience. Before? Eh? Haven't been in a while? Try it again!
Not What it Used to Be Ate here last weekend after a two-year break. Wasn't nearly as good in terms of atmosphere or service. Saturday night between 6 and 8:30 there were 6 or 7 total tables served. Service was adequate at best, although the food was good. Sadly, there are too many options in Omaha to settle. Will be our last time in.
Good food. Poor service! The waitress's attention was hard to get. She didn't want to wait 30 seconds at the table while we went through some of the options with her. She acted like it was huge inconvenience and kept telling us that she would leave while we made our choices and then come back. I ordered a cocktail that was really horrible, and gave it back immediately, but was still charged for it. I would have accepted that in a cheaper establishment but when you're spending close to $200, that's just poor service! On the good side, the food was well cooked and the other cocktail was great! I would not go back there again. Just across the street are Mark's Bistro and Darios, both of which have great food and great service!
Went for brunch. The Baela Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever tried. Very complex with a lot of flavors going on, but it works super well. Short rib hash was pretty unconventional for a breakfast hash, but also delicious.
